Project Administrator
We are looking for a Project Administrator to serve as the communication data link between Citrusbyte management and our projects. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who is process-oriented, detail-driven and can learn quickly. As we have an existing process, the candidate would be required to learn our process and its purpose, and implement this across multiple projects simultaneously.
The Project Administrator is responsible for collecting data on each project and communicating their findings to management on a bi-weekly basis. They are responsible for tracking project dates, resourcing, revenue, billing and issues, as well as overall company resourcing and revenue. The Project Administrator has a pulse on the big picture view of the projects as well as the details of the day-to-day, and is able to clearly and accurately communicate this to Citrusbyte management.
The Project Administrator also has the opportunity to improve ongoing development of best project processes and practices within our organization. The Project Administrator understands the organizational impact of project needs on resources, new project starts, and helps organize and plan company resource allocation. The Project Administrator otherwise takes ownership of working at Citrusbyte and making Citrusbyte a great place to work.
The candidate would be responsible for:
- Work with team members to gather project data (resourcing, dates, issues, revenue)
- Communicate project data directly to management on a weekly basis
- Manage list of outstanding issues for the project
- Identify and schedule meetings and calls
- Take notes during meetings and track follow-up items
- Implement and enforce company processes
- Continually improve company processes
- Manage team availability company-wide (resourcing)
- Track monthly company revenue

Senior Software Engineer
Work with cutting-edge open-source technology
Citrusbyte caters to high-end clients with challenging project requirements. You will take on projects like adding chat and a rich virtual world to a user's browsing experience or providing a stable transactional platform for private equity to name a few, instead of building yet another content management system with a different skin. Meeting our clients' challenges require us to work with the latest technology open source has to offer, and may even mean extending those libraries where necessary.
Unlike a product firm where you have an established set of technology being used, we have to pick the best tools for the specific needs of a project. Therefore when hiring we emphasize the ability to learn over specific expertise in a few areas. Our developers don't have to worry about working with the same technology over and over -- new codebases are started and blossom all the time.
No babysitting. No architecture astronauts.
We do not hire junior developers here at Citrusbyte. As studies have shown, the best developers are 10-20x as effective as the average, and thus provide the most value both to us and our clients. You will never have to walk a junior colleague through a basic task.
We also believe in hands-on development from our technical leads. Many consultancies have their senior developers lay out a spec or framework and then move on to the next project, leaving those on the project to constantly face the battle between the original spec and the project's changing requirements. We don't do that here. Our tech leads are highly involved in the day-to-day engineering of their projects and do not hand down technology edicts from high.
We'll never give up the start-up environment
In start-ups people have the ability to make their own decisions, take leadership of themselves and get things done. The people within Citrusbyte can all manage themselves and are allowed to do so. We have company cards as the policy is "spend what you need". We have no vacation policy other than "take some time and make sure your work gets done". If there is a suggestion for something to be done, its expected that you rally whomever is necessary and get it done -- costs will be covered.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate understands consulting. They will understand the client-vendor relationship, communicate well, and consistently hit self-set deadlines.
The candidate would be responsible for:
- Working under the guidance of a team lead to implement application functionality
- Communicate task progress & impediments to other team members, management and clients
- Be able to develop applications quickly, with readable and sensible code.
Necessary Experience:
- 2+ years consulting or professional web development
- Full stack knowledge of web technology: from provisioning servers to front-end CSS and Javascript
- Intimate familiarity with the HTTP protocol and its strengths and weaknesses
